once i took LSD and watched the sun rise from a friend's porch, alone. there was a single spider thread between my railing and the neighbor's which i stared at til i was cross-eyed and convinced that the sky behind it turned a new hue with every realization of time. (the breath between punctuation and new beginning is effortless and we forget it, yet it is the crux of language.) i felt certain that our efforts (mine and the sky's) would combine to raise me from the moldy couch into the haze where my cells would peacefully disjoin and burn.
